Soft Machine is a top 10 band for me so an easy choice. Now Tom Ozric who I think should change his name to Chicago Tom might disagree.Big smile

I too love Chicago.  I actually needed to think about this one for 5 seconds.  Soft Machine by 5 grides.

I love the softs.
I am currently digging:

Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!

Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

Chicago made some great albums, but they weren't as great as the best of SM.

Early Chicago is good, but I love Soft Machine (especially Third).

By the way, I know that Soft machine have a couple of questionable album covers, but this just takes the cake.

^ Yep !! Cetera is lovin' Seraphine with Pankow trying to censor it, whilst Loughnane wants to jog. Dunno what Dacus is doing - twirling his hair or something......absolute 'bog' cover - one of the worst. Surprisingly the title-cut is bleedin' awesome in my books.

^ The obfuscatory Pankow reminds me of an undercover officer there beckoning the onlookers to "move on, nothing to see here".

I think if I saw that "disaster" (to my tastes) of a cover in a record store I'd be moving right along (guessing they were trying to reach a  particular demographic with it, which I just don't happen to fall into).  Haven't actually heard it though; will check out the track you mentioned.

^ It's kinda almost proggy A.O.R in that the flute solo is over a 7/8 rhythm, and the guitar solo at the end is in 5/4 and Cetera's bass playing is quite superb !! Best song on the album, by a long shot.
