A great day at the flea market.  BB King "The King's Blues Box"  Red, White and Blue vinyl with 4 postcards and booklet.  Plus three great reissues on vinyl: BB King "The Blues", Frank Zappa "Lumpy Gravy" and Nirvana "Bleach".

On the box set the label is Stardust Records (division of Cleopatra Records).  The barcode is 889466001116.  The issue number is CLO 0011.  Sides D, E, and F are live recordings in Cannes, France.

"The Blues" album is issued by WaxTime Records and it has 4 bonus tracks, 2 on the end of each side.  The barcode number is 8436559460194, issue number is 772113.  It's on 180 gram vinyl and was re-issued in 2016.

Perfect I'll look them up.......I'm buying the new Blue Note issues specifically the Blue Note 80 series as those are pressed by Optimal Media. They are all analog from original master tapes mastered by Kevin Gray, right now BN is offering 30% off. These albums sound spectacular, just ordered 2 more by Art Blakey and Freddie Hubbard.

Santa was good this year:

A Silver Mt. Zion - "He Has Left Us Alone But shafts of Light Sometimes Grace the Corner of Our Rooms"
King Crimson - "Live at the Orpheum (The Elements Tour 2014)"
Television - "Marquee Moon" double set with one disc full of alternate versions and outtakes on blue vinyl.
Deep Purple - "Machine Head" remastered
Temple of the Dog - "Temple of the Dog"
Pink Floyd - "Division Bell" 2x LP on blue vinyl.  (Previously the only Pink Floyd studio LP missing from my vinyl collection)

And you as well. 2019 was a great year for sonics. I think the Tool album ( Fear Inoculum) was the best proggy surprise.

Really loved it.

Oh yeah that should be soon. I bet the presentation will be amazing. They gave the CD a ton of love with the video and art media book editions. Actually the audio quality of the CD is the biggest surprise. It is extremely good and that is rare for cd these days.
Anyhow as I understand Tool’s fear Inoculum was originally recorded on 2 inch analog tape. How cool is that!!! :)

Vinyl is available but they are all bootlegs, several pressed on colored vinyl too.....Prices run US50-US100 which is dumb since they are not authorized releases, SQ is highly suspect since they are just CD needle drops which is krapp. Bob Ludwig mastered the album so it should be an excellent release if done correctly for vinyl...
I had not read it was recorded onto 2" tape??

It was.
Then touched up with some pro tools by MR. Evil Joe Barresi., whom I think is a mixing god.
You can actually here some tape warble a few times. Doesn’t bother me. Sounds vintage with a modern twist.

Can’t wait to see what they do with the vinyl release. Gonna be magic...officially that is.

Christmas presents!

Props to my sister, the Jackie Cohen album (beautiful galaxy colored) was a cool surprise, that must have taken some digging on her part. The R&R album is a mixed bag, but it was cool thanks to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

Artsy electro-pop isn't something I'm well versed in, but I'm getting into this...cool cover too.

My wife knows I'm all about the ladies of Sargent House Records, so Ioanna Gika was a no-brainer in that I would dig it.
