^ Man, "Perfect Life" bores me so much
I haven't posted here in a while. Some new LP's: One of the top rated Progressive Electronic albums here. The artist found a few unopened copies of it so I asked him to open and sign it. I never had an old unplayed record before, it's pretty strange Another one of those great sounding reissues and what a great debut The third time I saw this band, 10000 Russos, and they finally had vinyl copies of their debut, I bought one of the last copies. Very dark psychedelic stuff with Krautrock influences. It was recorded at an abandoned mall so it has a spooky reverb sound |

Needless to say everything I have from PT and SW on vinyl has a glorious sound, the mastering is impeccable. The guy understands sounds and what the population is looking for....I ordered PG~So, these new PG issues are getting rave reviews from the analog/vinyl community.....I have the first 4 PG and they do not let down

My newest acquisition. I generally don't like to buy LPs that are everywhere and are very inexpensive, but this one was actually a really good deal, so I had to grab it. Probably my favorite Genesis album too!

Hi Sam.....yea me neither, have been very busy with my son and lacrosse this summer. Leave for another week on Monday.
I have only ordered PG~So and the Stolt/Anderson album, which I read is not getting good reviews....I have been playing all my albums as I bought a lot last year and early 2016....Plus I just bought new speakers so I don't need to spend anymore money right now . Just listening to stuff as the speakers go thru break in stage.....Sweet!

^ I did get the Rega RX5 speakers in walnut, gorgeous looking. I love my previous speakers Epos Epic 2, but these Rega are just more of everything. Tremendous detail and expansive soundstage, even at very high levels the sound is very articulate. Best thing is the low/bass nd is much bigger and detailed than than the Epos, which is what I was looking for.....Pretty happy now!

I don't think there is anything wrong, but... well, it just does not feel right, because everytime I consider buying such a record something in my mind tells me to hold it, because I would definitely find a better deal than that. In this case, it was different. |

I grew up with vinyl (I was born in the early 1960s) . . . as well as 78s (shellac instead of vinyl) from my grandfather, and before too long reel-to-reel, 8-tracks, cassettes, CDs, etc. And I was only too happy to dump all of that stuff in favor of computer files. I did like the big artwork that came with vinyl, but I'm happy to not have to store a bunch of "physical" stuff, and even 320 MP3s sound just fine to me. Heck, 8-tracks on a couple factory speakers in my old Ford Ranchero sounded fine to me. In the last 10-15 years, even when I have to buy CDs--which I do when that's the only way to acquire something--I immediately rip them to MP3s, never bother listening to the CD itself, and then I give the CD away.

I have always been a physical copy kind of guy. Back in the day it was basically vinyl at home and tapes in the car. I actually preferred 4-track to 8-track because it was impossible to divide an album into four equal parts without cutting out in the middle of a song.
I've moved my collection at least five times over the years and it was not easy but back when people were getting rid of their vinyl in favor of CDs I never once considered doing that. BTW Jose, back in the seventies I actually listened to Fly To The Rainbow more than In Trance. That's saying something because In Trance is a great album.

When people do this I really, really recommend you rip as a lossless file. You can always get the lossy version but at least you have a sound foundation of sound to which you may refer. |

To each his own on what media you chose to listen to. But why are you ripping your CDs to mp3??? You are leaving behind musical bits by down converting to mp3. Only reason to do this is to save space on a phone or media player with small storage, but to your computer you should be full on lossless transfer...

In Trance is another brilliant album, easy top 5 if not top 3. It's the start of the Scorps change to more metal sound from the psych/rock of the first two...
