Tucana is a baroque progressive band from Sweden. The debut selftitled album was released 5 dec 2012 and will take you on a journey in a Rock opera / Musical way by mixing progressive rock with classical orchestral arrangements on the (sometimes) more heavier side.

Wow, this one will be a toughie...
Symphonic Prog it is not...Symphonic Metal? - Yes, and certainly with some progressive elements too, but how that will equate to the subs on Progarchives I'm really not too sure. It certainly wouldn't get very far in Prog Metal - despite the metal elements it contains. Heavy Prog..? - Maybe, and Crossover is always a possibility if all else fails. I've got a feeling that this one will not be a straightforward evaluation by any means though.

So what to do with it next...?
There isn't a New Suggestions Monitor at the moment to make decisions regarding where to send the acts that get posted here, so we have to wait for members of the teams themselves to visit the forum and pick up any new suggestions that relate to their particular areas of expertise. In this case that really isn't clear at all - so perhaps the best way forward would be for you to take this initially to your own team mates for their thoughts on where it might best fit, 'cos I have a sneaky feeling it may actually be a case of Crossover or nowhere for these guys...but I could be wrong of course - and all too often am, I'm afraid! |

It appears that Crossover have already started to evaluate, Thanos: http://progfreak.com/Tucana-158085.html?path=pa/recent. You might need to have a chat with them if you feel that the band might have a chance in PM.

^ LOL! - That was my fault! I had a typo in my post, and always do Ctrl A, Ctrl C before posting in case the software throws a wobbler (as it is prone to do). Since I still had the text in the clipboard, I simply deleted the post and immediately reposted it (Ctrl V ) to correct the error rather than editing the original post (the messages always seem to take longer to load to be edited for some reason). You nipped in with your reply in the brief few seconds between me deleting and reposting my message!

This one seems to have gone a bit quiet...About a month ago there were two 'move' votes (presumably to Prog Metal) and a 'yes' from Diego in Crossover. No activity on the chart since...
