A friend asked me to listen to the debut album by these guys - 'Firdous' (2013), and it isn't bad at all, so I said I'd run it past the team on here and see where it might lead... Embarrassed

This is their bio from facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Coshish

"Fusing elements of Progressive Rock, with the more easily acceptable mainstream song writing styles of Hindi Rock, seems to come naturally to Mumbai based band Coshish. The band believes that their songs should have mass appeal and yet retain enough musical dexterity to appease technical musicians without compromising on simplicity. Their songs carry very strong social messages, delivered beautifully through Hindi lyrics.
Coshish leaves little to be desired by ensuring that they do not compromise on any facet of their music."

Mangesh Gandhi - Vocals, Rhythm Guitars, Mouth Organs
Shrikant Sreenivasan - Lead Guitars
Hamza Kazi - Drums, Xylophone
Anish Nair - Bass

Here are a few tubes:

Everything you need to know about them can be found in this review of the album: http://absurdhistory.wordpress.com/2013/11/01/album-review-firdous-coshish-2013/

But the main links of interest are:

It may be tilted just a shade too much towards alternative rock for this site, but I'm gonna send the album to Diego and the boys anyway, and see what happens... Tongue

Well, three out of four of them approved it...and the other didn't actually say 'no'...so they're cleared in double quick time: http://progfreak.com/Coshish-158096.html?path=pa/recent.  Thanks, guys!  Thumbs Up

Hello there!
I'm the drummer of Coshish!
Thanks for supporting us :)
I'm not too sure how this works but if you need any help you can let us know :)

I could also link you to the E-copy of the album if you'd like.
Cheers from India!

Hello Hamza, and welcome to progarchives! HugCongratulations on a fine debut album! We would be really grateful if you could give us a bit of background information on how the band originated (and maybe its future plans?). This would be a big help for us when the team come to write your biography. The text I copied from facebook in my original post describes the music pretty well, but doesn't include any band history. Thumbs Up

Thanks again :)
We'd love to send you a few physical copies (since it's a concept album)!
We'll send you the profile and the explanation of the concept if you could inbox me your email address :)
Hope that's not a problem.
Cheers!

We shouldn't need the physical copies of the album since the Crosssover team has already approved you for inclusion on here. The profile and explanation of the concept should ideally be sent to someone at the Crossover team (use the site's private messaging facilty - it's just the same as email really) . The leader of the team is Marty McFly. If you click on this link it will take you to a page where you will find another link to send him a private message. Thumbs Up
