four of the most influential punk-related bands i can think of and which I am listening to, bands whose integrity and status is of awesome nature,

all are also sort of similar

Although I go way back with Black Flag, their recorded output isn't nearly as impressive as that of the Melvins - so the Melvins get my vote.  I'm still getting familiar with Killing Joke and Neurosis, slowly.

Neurosis, with Killing Joke a VERY close second.

Indeed I have.  My KJ discography is:

Killing Joke  [1980]
Extremities, Dirt and Various Repressed Emotions
  [1990]
Absolute Dissent
  [2010]
MMXII
  [2012]

I'm iffy on their debut, but love the other three.  Further recommendations are welcome!

Also think that KJ belongs on PA as "progressive punk".  Approve

I would recomend  teh hated Outside the Gate, whose last track is an epic new wave post punk epic, with mellotronlike synths and gloomy, and less metal but more art punk, also Night Time and Pandemonium are a must for all KJ fans, Pandemonium is a math punk album, with so many riffs of legendary status, if you practice them yourself on guitar you will rock any band jam session.

The four bands are different enough that I'd prefer if the poll was split up KJ  vs. Neurosis and BF vs. Melvins, as there's a strong causal relationship of musical influence between each of those pairs.

I agree, but they are all sort of influence  to alternative metal (sludge, post metal and prog metal and such)

Out of the four bands mentioned here, it's probably The Melvins who are my personal favourite to listen to, for the record.

Killing Joke, with a preference for their more pop-oriented stuff (Night Time and Brighter Than a 1000 Suns), closely followed by the debut, Extremeties and MMXII

Neurosis is awesome too.
The other two I only listen too occasionally.

Aaaaaaaah I can't decide, I love all three...

Neurosis, by a gnat's whisker.

Note, I met the drummer from the Killing Joke. Damn nice chap!
