Well, Talladega happened again today and took with it Kyle Busch (I'm shocked and bummed by this), Dale Jr., Jimmie and Kasey Kahne from championship contention.  Brad K (gross) won the race to advance.  I'm all in for Jeff Gordon now!

I'm not much of a fan of Keselowski this year.  He's become very self entitled since winning his championship in '12 and he's been making almost everyone in the garage mad for one reason or another.

Caterham's a complete mess, I doubt we'll ever see them again.

I'm a bit surprised about Marussia, I guess the rumors of the Russian owners only wanting to get to their own GP  and thats it were true.

Marussia is better off being out with Bianchi's accident hanging over the team and Caterham was on it's death bed. It's not like either was going to challage Mercedes or Red Bull for the win. I wonder what the weather will hold for this race as the weather in the U.S. has been bizarre lately.

Bad accidents happen, and thankfully are a lot less frequent in Motorsport than in many other types of sports (horse racing for one), but it's no reason for a team to cut it's season short as the mechanics and engineers don't get paid for sitting at home. Caterham was a mess, but it seems like the administrators now have the entirety of the company under one roof and claim there are several realistic prospects to buy them out.

Practice times from Austin, Merc seem to have a huge advantage, though Williams never show their pace before Saturday. Button has a 5 place penalty for a gearbox change and Vettel has changed the entire Power Unit so is on his 6th of each part, meaning he'll start from the pitlane regardless and isn't remotely interested in going for qualy times and is focusing on race set up.

Same, did not expect Marussia.
That seems a little crazy BUT it is Russia...I could see them pulling the whole team just to not look bad at their home race lol  This is Russia after all!

Excited for the race

Can you believe how paranoid the Mercedes drivers are over reliability this weekend? I guess you can't blame them. This is probably the most radical power plant change since the change of 1.5 liters to 3.0 liters displacement in the sixties. Even Alonso sounds like he has a chance with the possibility of Mercedes having mechanical failures. Amazing. I hope this is a close one between Rosberg and and Hamilton though.

I'd say it was by far the biggest change in engine rules ever.

A good race, excellent pass on Rosberg for the lead, thats 24 points in front now.

Great melee after the Texas cup race today. Brad K is going to wind up with his face knocked  in if this goes on too much farther. (Hell, it may happen already)

You have no idea how pi$$ed I am about that outcome.  Gordon's season is in serious jeopardy now because of that crap.

Yes. I can understand that. It felt terrible to watch...especially at that hands of that dipsh*t.

Luckily for Gordon it's pretty much wide open for next week. +13 isn't really that much and all four spots are open.

But yeah...a win today would have been much better.

Great overtake from Lewis yesterday !
 Bet that sickened Rosberg .
That track is a stunning playground as well ! A classic track in the making as long as it keeps hosting .
The McLaren  /  Alonso is rumour gaining more strength today so Jenson must be worried.

Brazil this weekend, Hamilton just needs 2 second places to be champion regardless of whether Rosberg wins both races or not. Bad start to the weekend for Perez, he has a 7 place penalty for running into Raikkonen and Sutil in Austin and Juncadella crashed his car in FP1, meaning Sergio has had no practice time so far. It's also been announced that Williams test driver Felipe Nasr will drive for Sauber next year alongside Marcus Ericsson, that names not at all confusing with Felipe Massa. Finally, Marussia are definitely gone, they've closed their doors and the 200 staff have been let go, the same goes for the Manor GP3 team as well (Manor Motorsport formed the core of Marussia).
