Want to make my first suggestion. Never sure about sub-genres but possibly extreme tech?
Hope for the Dying formed in November of 2006 with sights set on bringing something different to the table. Tired of the typical oversimplified music that has manifested itself in today’s heavy music culture, Hope for the Dying brings new meaning to the idea of ‘guitar-driven metal.’ Even when drawing influence from genre heavy-weights Dimmu Borgir, Opeth and Between the Buried and Me, Hope for the Dying have worked hard to develop a signature sound that is as technically proficient as it is fresh and unique. In 2008, Hope for the Dying was featured in HM Magazine’s ‘Pick-of-the-Litter’ section and subsequently inked a deal with the newly resurrected Strike First Records (a division of Facedown Records) and released their debut self-titled full length on November 25 of that year. In the two years following the release of their debut, Hope for the Dying matured in both their music and their line-up. They released Dissimulation in the spring of 2011, a progressive metal album that showcases the bands’ outstanding musicianship. Now, they bring us Aletheia, with over an hour of epic metal inspired
by both American and European metal bands past and present. Aletheia
exhibits the skill level and technicality HFTD fans have come to know
and love, while adding an orchestral heaviness that’s sure to bring many
new fans to Hope for the Dying. Edited by cryptic99 - January 14 2014 at 07:52 |

The 'insert movie' gizmo
(the ladder-like icon in the full post editor) can be a bit temperamental at times. You can get round it though by simply using the Bulletin Board code that the gizmo actually generates directly in your post - ie. [TUBE ][/TUBE ] (without the spaces that I have inserted here after the E of each TUBE to prevent it from generating a load of gibberish without anything between the brackets to work with). All you then need to do is insert the 11-character YouTube video identifier (the bit that comes after the watch?v= in the examples you give above) in between the two sets of brackets, and your video will be embedded.
Hope this helps. Edit: Actually the whole of the latest 'Alethia' album has been uploaded to Youtube in one lump, which might save you a bit of work: Edited by yam yam - January 08 2014 at 07:27 |

Hm, this is interesting stuff, but rides the very thinly defined progressive metalcore/not-so-progressive metalcore line. I'll let the PM guys know, but this one is up in the air. Good stuff, otherwise.

Thanks yam yam, I was including the "watch?" part. That helps a lot. Thanks Andy for passing it on!

Just curious the average length of time it takes to accept or decline these suggestions. Not trying to rush it, just want to know what to expect. Anyone know?

It depends on the individual teams, how busy they are (read: how many other suggestions they get thrown their way), and/or whether the music is easy to evaluate. The best thing to bring with you in this part of the forum is patience

You can check the prog metal team's prog freak page for an update. There's little doubt they'll be rejected - not quite prog enough.

Controversial! We'll have to wait for the last vote.

Looks like a 3 vote win. Does that make it a done deal?

They'll probably do some discussing before they accept a band with 2 nos.

And if you follow the evaluation via the 'recent changes' chart on progfreak rather than the 'new' one for which a link was given earlier in this thread, you will see the word 'cleared' appear (and eventually the word 'added') at the top of the chart if the discussion Andy refers to above ends favourably for the band. Sometimes team members amend their votes as a result of these discussions in the team threads - these amendments will also show up in the 'recent changes' chart: http://progfreak.com/Hope-for-the-Dying-158269.html?path=pa/recent.

Can it come from their website or should it be written by another? Not sure how the copyright thing works with that kind of info. Thanks.

Best to alter the wording and cite the reference but if the website's bio is good enough (i.e. includes members, albums, a bit of history, how they sound like) then we can use that with the appropriate reference
