Topic: Prog/Non Prog Battle: The Who vs The Kinks Posted: January 17 2014 at 22:29 |
Bands listed and not listed in the PA database but have similar roots, background and importance in the proto prog or proto hard rock universe. Which one do you prefer?

Both great bands that I, for some reason, don't listen to very often. Voted Kinks

The Who. They destroyed more instruments.

I'm not sure whether you know this Lynx, but for a poll to stay in this part of the forum, it needs to concern itself with prog acts. Prog related doesn't cut it either as PR has it's own section too. Just so you don't get all confused now that I move these polls

The Who hands down. Loved Quadrophenia and Who's Next. Tommy is a bit overrated IMO though, but still quite influential to prog rock

Interesting match-up. I would go with The Who on the strength of Tommy, Who's Next and Quadrophenia, although The Kinks' Village Preservation Society, Arthur and Lola Vs. Powerman are very strong.

Neither. For the time being, methinks.
I've been through so much popular classic pop/rock that I just wouldn't bother buying any of their albums to become more familiar with their stuff. That part is over for me, I think. Eh.
