Is it another way for you to say King Crimson are overrated?

I'm sure you'll give a few examples on these polls. But don't let me spoil your fun, please.

Well I actually think KC are a bit overrated. I mean it's still good music but if you compare them with other classic prog artits they  appear to be more chaotic. Besides most of their stuff is just simple rock + experiments completely separated from the original ideas of particular songs. It's not very exciting to me. Lizard is their finest work to date, maybe because they're different there.

LOL
Yup I found that one a bit strange as well. Sure, KC may appear overrated to folks who don't get em (whatever overrated means), but calling them simple rock is like throwing an avantguarde badge on the Bee Gees.

What's so complex about that? And it's just an example but they have many more tunes like this one.

^At first, it's more of a jazz tune, so it's barely a 'simple rock'. Then, they've got here an overly complicated and exprimental percussion line.

I don't read music, but I have heard enough of it to know that 'Easy Money' ain't exactly easy peacy Japanese to play - nor is it simple. The fact that it sounds simple is probably down to the incredibly talented musicians playing.
The bass is mad hopping a la jazz fusion, the guitar sways back and forth in these impossible gestures - even when it's relegating the melody, and don't get me started on the rhythm section!

It is like some sort of improvisation based on simple rock bass line. It's like more chaotic Led Zeppelin with a different singer. It lasts for 8 minutes and nothing really happens there. It's boring.

Actually it is the guitar that sounds chaotic, out of tune a bit, Fripp wasn't a virtuoso by any means. I remember Bill Bruford once said, that Crimson in the 70's were like Led Zeppelin but with more improvisation in their songs. Maybe it's not exactly it but I get what he was trying to say.
