The two soundtrack albums Pink Floyd did, which one do you like better?

Obscured by Clouds is a lot more consistent in its quality. More has some great songs and some uninteresting ones.

'More' for me, mainly because I love the Farfisa drenched soundscapes Richard Wright came up with.

Obscured easily

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

OBC by a wide margin. There is a ton of Richard Wright on this album which is a plus. More is a very inconsistent album.

Obscured by Clouds is obviously the best of these two.

They are pretty equal in quality, but I think More has more memorable songs...Cirrus Minor, Nile Song, Cymbaline, Green Is the Colour etc. Obscured is more consistently good, and I love listening to it, but the only track that stands out in my memory is Free Four, and that's because it was where Roger Waters first realized his power as a lyricist. The song itself , though, isn't as memorable to me as the ones I mentioned off of More.

More. Obscured should be thrown into the dustbin and never listened to by anyone ever again.

OBC happens to be my least favourite Floyd album (still a 3 star rating for me, just something about it I can't get into.....)

I have read some bad opinions versus both the albums in this thread, so I want to tell what I think is good or bad in both.
First of all they are soundtracks, both written and recorded very quickly and commissioned by the same director. Let's say that both the movies are forgettable.
More contains material which was probably already available and effectively songs like Cymbaline and Green Is The Colour have been played live for a certain amount of time. On More there is a bit of psychedelia, it's the same year of Ummagumma and even a track like The Nile Song has its importance. Technically it's an "eternally ascending canon", not a kind of things frequents in rock or pop music.
Obscured is more pop and light, but as somebody has written, there's a lot of Wright, and I can add, of Gilmour. Free Four is the prequel to The Dark Side of the Moon in terms of lyrics, and also the most pop songs are excellent pop songs. Stay, Wot's oh The Deal (reprised by Gilmour in Gdansk) and The Gold It's In The.. are great songs. Bridges Burning is classic Pink Floyd.
Both the albums are relevant in their own and should not be missed. SOmebody says that they are the weakest PF albums...may be, but if I have to choose about playing one of the two or, just as example, Selling England By The Pound, I usually give a spin to More or Obscured by Clouds.
Personal tastes of course.

OBC by a small margin, though lately I've been listening to More more often. The Floyd could really do no wrong in my book.

I like More much more, in fact it's always been one of my favourite Floyd albums. It's almost a bridge between the old Floyd and the new Floyd and even now 35 years after I heard it I still find it an absorbing listen.
I just love how atmospheric More is, particularly pieces like Cirrus Minor (heavenly), Cymbaline, Main Theme and especially the threatening ambience of the amazing Quicksilver which is one of my top 5 Floyd tracks of all.

Not a great thing both two for me, but maybe I like More a bit more, just a bit.
