Not many people voted on the Trespass lyrics poll, but enough to have some tendence.

The Knife (lyrics by Gabriel), followed far behind for White Mountain (lyrics by Banks)

In think Nursery Cryme might be less obvious, cos it has some great lyrics, Musical Box, Salmacis and Seven stones for example. So pick the one you appreciate more.

Musical Box
Dig me...But don't...Bury me

Fountain, Seven, Musical.

Hogweed
Fountain
Absent
The rest are crappy
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Harold the Barrel isn't a great song, but the lyrics definitely make it.

Musical Box - love the first verse's lyrics ("the nurse will tell you lies, of a kingdom beyond the skies"). Sounds brilliant with that melody as well Smile

From a dense forest of tall dark pinewood, Mount Ida rises like an island. Within a hidden cave, nymphs had kept a child; Hermaphroditus, son of gods, so afraid of their love.
When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

The nurse will tell you lies, of kingdom beyond the skies, but I am lost within this half world, it doesn't seem to matter now..

I'm the first to vote for Seven Stones. At some other time I would pick one of the others. I'm just really into that song right now, as it happens. The whole album is filled with great lyrics.

Musical Box...then Salmacis, what great lyrics all around. Mind you that was one of Genesis's strength always.
