He was damn fine actor and I was very sorry to hear about this. Way too young to go.

We need a RIP thread for non-musicians...

RIP again. Best actor (or among them) of this generation.

A buddy of mine who's a major film buff told me about this right after it happened and I was quite shocked. It's already being reported as an apparent drug overdose.

RIP to an incredibly talented actor.

RIP, a brilliant man.

Ironic that a fake-death rumor about him went around a few days ago.

Will watch The Big Lebowski in his memory. RIP.

Tremendous acting talent. Shame to see him go.

Terrible loss, so early. As Jim Carey said, for the ' sensitive" the noise is just too loud

Thanks for all the wonderful performances.....R.I.P

He was an extremely good actor and he carried a kind of realness and elusiveness to his performances. Always top notch roles.

It's sad to lose him.

I know he had other more major roles, but I'll always remember him as the errant preacher in 'Cold Mountain':

A terrific actor, taken too soon by a weakness.

Rest in peace. Cry
When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.
