I would like to suggest the group Dream the Electric Sleep for consideration for Crossover Prog or at least Prog Related. I came across mention of this group in one of the Amazon discussion threads about prog and after listening to both their albums I am a big fan now. Reminds a bit of stuff like Karnivool, Little Atlas and Airbag with some definite Pink Floyd, Rush and Spock's Beard influences in a heavy rock sound. They have two albums out, Lost and Gone Forever (2011) and Heretics (2014), both are great IMO.

DTES is a three piece out of Lexington, Kentucky. Formed in 2009.
Matt Page - Guitar, vocals
Joey Walter - Drums
Chris Tackett - Bass

Official website: http://www.dreamtheelectricsleep.com/

The new album Heretics is featured on the front page of Progstreaming.com for a free listen.

http://www.progstreaming.com/_wb/pages/play-album.php?activeAlbum=00638%20-%20Dream%20The%20Electric%20Sleep%20-%20Heretics

I only came across this group the day before making this post so I have only listened to each album once so I am trying to pick some good examples to post videos for.

Sorry but they've been rejected in Crossover, Heavy, and Psych.
I've not listened to their newest album but they need unanimous "YES" votes for inclusion ... a tough way really.

It's fine for me if you have their newest album and can send me via a sharing website (only via PM ... never post the link here).

Two old suggestion threads exist for this band - the second containing the progfreak chart showing all the previous evaluations:

I am liking the new album (love the old).  I know they are not true progressive rock, but I was surprised that they did not fall into some sort of related-prog category.

Very-ENCHANT like stuff at moments, nice Xover/Heavy modern Prog with a quite accesible approach, I am surprised they were rejected, lots of bands in here are definitely less proggy.

A fourth suggestion for this band was made by Gallifrey today: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=97125, which has already been locked. I have looked at the progfreak chart again: http://progfreak.com/Dream-The-Electric-Sleep-139693.html?path=pa/recent, and it appears that no fresh evaluation has yet been started, so I'm sending a p.m. to Kev Rowland to ask if he might consider asking the Crossover team to take a fresh look at them based purely on the new 'Heretics' album.

There seem to be a lot of members who would support D.T.E.S. inclusion on the site - myself amongst them - so just maybe the force will be with the band this time around, but we mustn't forget that it wll require a unanimous 'yes' vote for them to be approved now, due to the previous rejections.

I am putting this into the Crossover thread now - but as this is a previously rejected band it will need five clear votes to get the okay

Dream The Electric Sleep: Heretics (USA-2014).
Interesting music between progressive and alternative rock. (18/20)

This may yet take a while to fully resolve. Whilst only one more vote is needed to settle the matter either way, Marty hasn't logged in either here or at progfreak for almost a month now. I hope things are ok with him.

Marty is no longer a member of the Crossover team, and I wish him well with whatever he may be moving on to from there. He has been replaced, it seems, by Second Life Syndrome, who I believe also evalutes for the Math Rock team. However, in between Marty leaving and Jason being installed as his replacement, the Crossover boys were briefly a four-man team...and all four of them had voted 'yes' for D.T.E.S. - which satisfied the main criterion for a previously rejected band to be cleared by the same team.

And so we have (just the recent history of rather a long chart):

And thus the matter is finally almost settled. Approve  Cool  Thumbs Up
