Two traditional stylysedvdrummers who have thecfree flowing Buddy Rich feel. To very dynamic vreative drummers with tons of chops.
To me Wilson is what Palmer dreams of having, a drive behind the kit which is unpredictable and uncanny.
Wilson is soo great . Love his style

Carl Palmer, no contest!! Palmer is a master, Wilson was IMO merely competent.

Maybe some people prefer that. Palmer's style of flair never really appealed to me.

I like both drummers but Palmer is more muscular and dynamic but he needed to be with what ELP was doing in their better songs. Procol's music was more stately and pastoral at times and that didn't really allow for Wilson to create some havoc like Palmer did.

live clips ymtells a totaly different story., he was a beast, an animal, the Buddy Rich of rock.

I glad someone clarified who B J Wilson is (ie Procol's drummer I presume) as I wouldn't have know otherwise.
Palmer was an insane talent and around about 1973 was just on another planet in terms of what he could do.
The only other drummers who could have kept up him at that time were maybe Jon Hiseman and Billy Cobham.
In terms of a smooth style of playing then Bruford or Collins would get my vote.
Best ever though is 'The Prof' for all round quality (IMO)

I thought it a good idea to name his band since some might not have known who he played with.
But now you have me intrigued....who is 'the Prof'..?
