Topic: 2 Uriah Heep albums Posted: February 19 2014 at 05:58 |
Both have fantasy themes, great Roger Dean covers, a longer proggy song at the end, and were released the same year.
I personally prefer Magician's Birthday.

Out of the two long ones you mention The Spell is much better I think, so it's Demons

Two wonderful records, indeed.
But I think Demons and Wizards is slightly superior both in production and in songwriting.

Sorry, I cannot vote for either, I like them equally and they represent the best of Uriah Heep.

They are both very similar...could have been a great double LP.
No vote.

Demons & Wizards. The other is good but ultimately falls a little flat.

Demons and Wizards. Magician's Birthday seems like a commercial attempt to capitalize on the former.

They're both excellent. I would be unable to choose even if I could vote.
These two and Salisbury are the best of Heep.

I just got a little while ago "The Magician's Birthday" and was very pleasantly surprised. I saw a few months ago "Demons and Wizards" in a store downtown (though it was much more expensive), and I may go one of this days to see if they still have it available.

This is difficult, because I like both, but I'll vote for The Magician's Birthday because it has less votes.
