"Dumb Waiter is a 4 piece Instrumental/Math/Avante-Garde/Pop/Noise band from Richmond, Va featuring members and ex-members of Street Pizza, Guise, The Jefferson Plane Crash, and The Jacob Spindel
Dumb Waiter started in late May of 2012. Nick Crider(ex-Jacob Spindel/Vinager) and Nathaniel Roseberry(Street Pizza/BURNWARD/ex-Jefferson Plane Crash/ex-Our Stable Violent Star) had been tossing the idea of doing an improvised noise rock 2-piece for about 5-6 months. Lots of talk was had before they ever got together. After jamming for the first time, Nick(guitar) and Nath(drums) wrote a song. It ...was then decided they would not be improvising, but instead composing songs.
Nathaniel asked bassist/guitarist/composer Keith Paul of Promethean (now Guise) and saxophonist/composer Tristan Brennis of Promethean to fill out the lineup. Once the full lineup was set, things took flight and Dumb Waiter took on a sound none of us could have expected.
Furiously spastic drumming, heavy syncopated bass riffs, otherworldly synthesized saxophone, finger tapped guitar madness!!!https://www.facebook.com/dumbwaitermusic

released 02 May 2013

Seems worth an eval to me. The band is unsigned, but it has a web presence outside of the bandcamp/facebook environment that it created itself.

This is from the site of Dave Watkins, the guy who recorded the album for them: http://www.davewatkinsmusic.com/1/post/2013/06/dumb-waiter-is-this-chocolate.html - and gives a fairly detailed account of the process.

There is a pretty detailed review here: http://therummage973.wordpress.com/tag/dumb-waiter/, and this is from the Richmond, Vancouver Playlist site, which showcases different local and national bands playing in town, plus CD and show reviews in Richmond, Va: http://rvaplaylist.com/2013/05/02/new-album-from-dumb-waiter/.
