^ I always wondered how Roger Waters could compose an opera if he can't read music.  I'm sure there are ways, but I'd be curious to know how.

I don't know.  I imagine he has the music in his head and he is somehow able to verbalize it to the musicians so that they can play it, and maybe write down the notes.

Pretty impressive if that's the case.  That's a lot of musicians to direct.  Maybe he delegates to a few section leaders.
