Just curious:

Here are tracks off the albums by both bands if you haven't heard the whole albums.

Ahh...I love an easy poll.

This is really no contest for me. Art Zoyd times 100000000000.

Genesis, but pretty much just for the self-titled one. Calling All Stations is pretty poor Unhappy

I actually like shapes a lot as it never fails to remind me of the early eighties and me having a blast. But look what it's paired with.Angry
So Art Zoyd it is.

I like the s/t Genesis as much as the next American psycho, however I have to go with the band that didn't make Calling All Stations.

I guess I'm in the minority that thinks CAS was better than the last couple of albums Phil Collins did with Genesis.

think the last few albums are all on the poor side with some strong songs---I think when you start with a strong group of 5 you can't go down fewer than 3 originalsSmile  Now when Phil left if they had recorded with Hackett and got a better singer you would have had somethingCool

Hackett + Kevin Gilbert. That would have shown extraordinarily good taste though, and we're talking about Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford in the 90's.

Art Zoyd for me although I really like the 'Shapes' album. I listen to it very frequently actually - earlier today was my last spin. I have only heard individual songs off the latest Genesis album and didn't like what I heard. Conversely, I don't think I have ever heard a bad album from Art Zoyd, and Häxan is one of my current faves - thanks to you Greg. Still owe you big time for that oneSmile

I like both, but I'll vote for Genesis.
When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.
