Hello All

I have been using ProgArchives to research my music for a long time.  It's tough to find somewhere you can get insightful commentary on music my wife calls "wrinkly rock"!!  I have been a huge fan of Hammill, ELP for years and have since broadened my interests to everything from IQ, Spock's Beard, Porcupine Tree, PFM to the Gabriel years at Genesis.  I love the reviews and the recommendations.  I am humbled by the expertise of some of the members.

From a Brit in LA!!

hello and welcome, VDGG. "expert" is relative. no-one is an expert for all of prog, that would be just too much. but some are certainly experts in certain areas or sub-genres of prog. but even the best expert always learns new things in his or her field of expertise all the time

BaldJean

Thanks for your welcome.

I agree that to be an expert in all sub-genres of Prog is a tall order, but a collection of knowledgable people such as those brought together by ProgArchives provides expertise greater than us individually. I learn something new everytime I log on - a peviously unheard of band, or a forgotten album. Good stuff!
