What's wrong with this guy Verlander this year, ups and downs!

The Tigers score 3 in the 9th with back to back home runs from their number 8 and number 9 hitters to steal a win from the Blue Jays. Miguel Cabrera was 0 for 5, including the last out of the 9th inning. Joe Nathan was Jose Valverde and loaded the bases before ending the game with former Blue Jay Rajai Davis' sliding catch in foul territory.   For the first 8 innings the Tigers looked like the same crappy team that showed up for the New York series.

So I am in a 4-team fantasy league (we lost some people from last season), but here is my starting rotation of pitchers.

Clayton Kershaw
Felix Hernandez
Adam Wainwright
Johnny Cueto
Max Scherzer

Toss in Aroldis Chapman and Fernando Rodney as my relief pitchers, and I've dominated the pitching categories. I know it's a small league, but the pitchers I've ended up with are all lights out and are almost all in the Cy Young running in their respective leagues. Now if only my hitters would stop getting hurt.

Angels have the best record but they lost Garrett Richards for most likely the entire season Ouch

Oakland and Detroit made major trades at the deadline so that they would be able to compete with each other in the playoffs.  Who knew that it might be a 1 games series for the Wild Card game.  Ouch

At least for one day, the Tigers are back in first place.  We will see what today brings.  Thank you to the Sahx for taking two from KC.  Two more would be quite nice.

My hometown O's I think are going to have to go through the Angels. Hopefully a repeat of '79 - O's won 3 games to 1 - but *not* a repeat of the '79 World Series against Pittsburgh!...

What a maddeningly inconsistent year this has been. The Tigers are so frustrating, they're unwatchable.

Think the Tigers have the division wrapped up, now they just have to play up to their potential in the playoffs.  The Tigers were offensively built for the postseason - their top 5 is plain scary.  The starting three are top shelf; of course their problem is and has been for the past few years in the 'pen.  They need starters to pitch into the eighth, which is tough when you're up against the best offenses this time of year.

Still, I'm rooting for the Tigers (mainly 'cause I'm a Bosox fan and can't root for the AL East and I can't root for that Disney team out west.....please don't let the rally monkey and inlfatable noise maker make another appearance on TV.....I swear whenever the Angels do anything they bring along that whole shallow, "anything buy having to watch the game" fan base).
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

And so it begins!  Go Tigers!!!!!!   I hate that tomorrow's game is at noon and Monday's game is most likely at 1:00.  Don't they realize that most people are working at that time.  What a bunch of BS!!!! Angry

I don't think KC has a chance in hell against the Angels but man that Detriot/Baltimore series should be a doozy. Cheering for the Tigers in that one.
The Giants shouldn't have a hope against the Nationals but with the playoff experience they have I wouldn't bet on that one. Dodgers versus Cardinals should be amazing, looking forward to that series.

That sucked a big hairy one. Sadly I'm not really surprised.
