My bad; I did miss the point. But 1964 is the 50th anniversary of The Beatles "in America." Their first AMERICAN release was Introducing The Beatles in January 1964, and they appeared on Ed Sullivan a month later. So while it may be a "later" anniversary in the UK, it is, in fact, the 50th anniversary of both their first American release and their first American concert.
