I voted for Progressive Electronic simply as it had no votes. I could happily vote for most of these categories, and don't really have a favourite.

I'll rank some general groupings I came up with, only the stuff I like and consider a valid category:
1. Symphonic / RPI / Neo-Prog 2. Canterbury / Jazz-Rock/Fusion 3. Progressive Folk / Indo-Prog 4. Avant-Prog / Zehul 5. Progressive Electronic / Space Rock 6. Heavy Prog / Progressive Metal Edited by King Crimson776 - April 16 2014 at 00:57 |

Hmmmm-Well i was torn between 3 choices Heavy Prog,Psych/Space & Prog Related.Though i love other bands dearly-Song for song in my opinion only-its hard to beat Black Sabbath, especially the Ozzy era. That being said i shall choose Prog Related.

I was considering putting eclectic in the first group but erg... there are a lot of oddball groups thrown in there. If you just go by the "big 3" of eclectic, then it's hardly more than "impure symphonic" and would basically work. I guess it's about as valid as crossover, and has a similar problem: eclectic can take from any direction and crossover can enter from any direction.

It's good to see that almost half the options have had more than a couple of votes - we like a lot of different things.

Fusion would probably be the most accurate for me, since I really enjoy jazz influence in every subgenre. Voted tech/extreme though.

For darkness turns once more to light. Through the skies, his white horse flies. To find a land beyond the night. |

Been listening to a bit of Progressive Electronic as usual, so I voted there. I could just as easily vote for Jazz-Rock/Fusion.

Voted for proto-prog as it had no votes! Without whom none of the above might have been possible... But everyone contributes such fine music no matter how it gets defined / re-defined
