I'm looking forward to see who takes this one, Ash Ra Tempel takes this one for me.

Oh this is tough! It's between Egg and Magma for me, although they are both excellent albums it's Magma just by a hair.

This is quite tough, but as Mr. Knutsack I go with  Ash Ra Tempel.  I like all three albums very much.

Thankyou Mr. Knutsck with the silent "k" of course.LOL  I am so mature, but it's good to see one written response vote for Ash Ra Tempel. Klaus Schulze on drums and electronics, Gottsching on guitar and electronics and Enke on bass. A cosmic trio if there ever was one.

Egg were also a trio like Ash Ra Tempel but with four guys guesting on horns. Love that opening track "A Visit To Newport Hospital" as it reminds me a little of that Khan album that would follow with Stewart, Hillage etc. It's surprising how experimental this Egg album gets as Canterbury is usually fun and easy to get into.

And that Magma album has some incredible songs on it like De Futura, Soleil D'ork and more. Like most of you I have to agree that it's difficult to pick between these three recordings.

Need to get a copy of those ART/Egg albums. Udu Wudu is fantastic, one of my favorite Magma studio albums.

I went with the Ash Ra Tempel debut as well. I've got so many fond memories with that one. Some of them more lucid than others.

Ash Ra Tempel. Egg's debut was a masterpiece and one of my favourites, but the Polite Force is so much worse! Never got into Magma that much so those 2 would just about reach 3-star ratings, whereas ART would just take a 4-star Smile
