Since you like Pink Floyd and the guitar solo on Firth of Fifth, I would also sugest to try Camel out. Start with the song "Lady Fantasy", and perhaps also "The White Rider". Since you like Lizard, and Porcupine Tree (though I'm afraid I don't know that particular PT album you listed), you might also like to try out Steven Wilsons "Grace for Drowning" and "The Raven that Refused to Sing" (in case you haven't yet). And if you happen to like "Grace for Drowning", then perhaps you might like to try out the "Storm Corrosion" album, and Opeth's "Heritage".

Oh yeah, perhaps you might listen to Ayreon's "Universal Migrator" album too. Or some Steve Hackett (I love the song "Shadow of the Hierophant", and there are plenty of cool songs from the live album "Rails"). And also, nothing you posted made me think particularly of Yes, but since you didn't mention them, if for some reason you haven't heard them, you should at least know them.

Even if you only like some of Genesis' music, but really like the guitar work, and love Mike Oldfield--then I would highly recommend Steve Hackett's "Voyage of the Acolyte".
Mike Oldfield is my favorite musician and often when I'm really in the mood for his music, Voyage of the Acolyte fits in well to my mood. It also features Sally Oldfield on the second to last track and it's probably my favorite on the album.

I'm not sure why anyone is bothering given that the author of the thread has not bothered himself to comment on any of the suggestions.

The OP is too busy to respond as he/she has been listening to all of the new music we've suggested.... I was going to suggest Gong "You" and Steve Hillage "Fish Rising"..... ....wait, I guess I did just suggest Gong "You" and Hillage "Fish Rising!" |

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder this myself. I think sometimes people just like to throw names out there and 'show off' their prog knowledge instead of trying to make a helpful suggestion.
