Don't know them all well enough to rank them, but I would put Snow at the top, with V, X and Brief Nocturnes probably next in some order.

I only own 4 studio albums and 2 live albums by them. Brief Nocturnes is easily my favourite followed by V. Feel Euphoria has a killer track The Bottom Line even if the rest is not that great. Don't care for Snow. .

I've had a strange relationship with Spock's Beard. My rankings have changed and I'm sure will change again. V used to be one of my all time favorite albums now, along with most of Morse's material, I have grown tired of it, and Snow which I used to hate is now my favorite Morse album. Anyway here's my rankings.
1. X 2. Snow 3. Feel Euphoria 4. Octane 5. Brief Nocturnes and Dreamless Sleep 6. Spock's Beard 7. V 8. The Light 9. The Kindness of Strangers 10. Beware of Darkness 11. Day For Night

^^^We have a very similar list KC776 The Light V Octane Beware of Darkness Snow The Kindness of Strangers Spock's Beard Day For Night Feel Euphoria Don't have the latest two so I can't put them in there. D4N has a couple of cool tracks like Crack the Big Sky and Gibberish but the suite doesn't hold up for me like their other longer works do. Don't be fooled by my review of Octane, I have come to love the album. It's a really slow burn and that's probably why it's so high up the list right now is longevity - something always kept me coming back to it. SB is all-around good but very middle of the road - no particularly high or low points: Although I do love "Skeletons At The Feast" and even got permission to use it in a student film back in film school from the band! The Light will probably always be my favorite for how raw it is for them but V will always follow up for how polished it is. "At The End of the Day" can always turn my mood around . Love this band! |

Octane is actually quite brilliant. Although not all tracks convince there are some true gems on it: Of the beautify of it all, She is everything, and the ballad of the impact! |

Yeeees! Those ones are great! I also really love "The Planet's Hum" and on my last listen for the first time "There Was a Time" really clicked with me.
To think my review of it was so negative . I think a rewrite is in order.... |

Just discovered this band... listened to only "The Light" so far. But oh my, they are incredible. Most obvious influence is early Genesis, but whereas prog-era Genesis leaves me kind of cold, this band simply hits me between the eyes. Meticulously constructed tracks that initially seem rambling, but in the end it becomes clear there isn't a note out of place. What an interesting contrast to Wilson's stuff like Porcupine Tree... both are at the forefront of modern prog, both are excellent, yet are vastly different in tone and style. Can't wait to get their other albums.
