Another probable RPI candidate that I can't find any reference to in the public part of the forum (even in the body of the text of all the various posts placed on here in the last 12 months - and not even in andrea's A journey through the Italianprog scene thread).

Qirsh "Sola Andata"

Country: Italy
Sub Genre: Progressive Rock
Label: Lizard Records
Release date: December 20, 2013
Tracklist:

1. Artico
2. Mercato Ghardaia
3. Mayflower
4. Figli Del Piccolo Padre
5. 5a, Finestrino
6. Rianimazione
7. Malaria
8. Vento Delle Isole
9. La Nebbia

Line-up:
- Leonardo Digilio / keyboards
- Pasquale Aricò / keyboards and vocals
- Michele Torello / guitars
- Daniele Olia / guitars and vocals
- Marco Fazio / drums
- Andrea Torello / bass and vocals

Description/Reviews:

"Although each of the 9 pieces has its own style and its own atmosphere , the album has a common thread : the journey. Trips of exploration (such as " Artic " , dedicated to the mission of zeppelin 'Italy' to the North Pole in 1928 ), real travels made by some members of the group (" Market Ghardaia " tells the story of the old city in the Algerian desert, " Malaria" was inspired by a trip to Indonesia , " Mayflower " gathers American influences , "Wind of the islands " is in the Mediterranean theme and sounds), travels in the history of last decades (the story of the monster of Rostov, who terrorized Russia in the 80s ), but also trips into the mind and into own fears ("Reanimation" is a hectic ride in an ambulance , " The mist " is a long wait at the airport .. )."

Excellent stuff!  Cool  Approve

Edit: This band have been around since the early nineties (late 1992, it seems): http://carrysnewundergroundmusic.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/review-qirsh-sola-andata-lizard-records.html:

"In the winter of 1992 the band Qirsh was founded by Daniele Olia (vocals and lead guitar), Andrea Torello (bass guitar and vocals), Michele Torello (solo guitar), and Luis Fancello (drums).
With this line-up the band would remain active until 1994; then in 1994 Luis Fancello was replaced by Marco Fazio (drums)  - and Leonardo Digilio (keyboards) and Luca Calcagno (vocals) joined the band.
This line-up was also short-lived, but the basis for the current band was laid in 1996, when Pasquale Arico (keyboards) and vocals took the place of Leonardo Digilio.
The band made their first album in 1996, entitled "Una Città Per Noi" ("A City For Us"), and in 2007 Leonardo returned to the band and since that time Qirsh has consisted of: Daniele Olia, Andrea Torello, Michele Torello, Mario Fazio, Leonardo Digilio and Pasquale Arico.

In 2009 a start was made with the recordings for their new album "Sola Andata" that would be. released in December 2013 by the Lizard Records label."

(The above text is a google-translate of the bio from the above review of the album, with a few changes I made to make it read a bit better...Embarrassed)

Full (and very extensive!) bio in Italian here: http://qirsh.wordpress.com/storia/ (click on the each of the three pictures you'll see there to open the full text of that phase of the bands development).  Smile

Andrea Torello was also the bass player of Italian Prog Metal band Night Cloud, who gave us one album 'Defeated By The Innocents' in 2004. He was with them from 2001-2004, but left soon after the album was released.

Dave, it's partly my fault for the delay! I was totally intimidated - and a little bummed out - by the phone book sized biography on the band website!

But I think I've whittled it down to something workable for an Archives bio opener. I've just got to tidy the review up a little and I'll post everything tomorrow.

Ha, and now I notice even you mentioned "Full (and very extensive!) bio" just above as well!

Hey, no worries Michael! - It's only been just over four months...some bands take almost that many YEARS to get added!!  LOL

At least I know that they'll get the 5-star treatment with you taking care of matters - both the bio and the review are guaranteed to be superbly written.  Approve
