Very strong track off of arguably my personal favorite Yes record. I've never thought too much about those lyrical lines, as I simply love just about everything Jon Anderson has done with the band. What a record Relayer is!

It's nonsensical vocables but the similarity to the French language as spoken by a lad from Lancashire could be more than just a coincidence. 

For example does not "New Som Du Lay" strike you as being almost too similar to "Nous Somme Du Soleil" ? ...

... Perhaps he intended to put a reference to 'Ritual' into the end of the song but the extra syllable didn't scan so he dropped it - he then vocalised randomly around that phrase. Unfortunate then that "Nous somme du lait" could translate as "we are the milk". Then there is "tay tu santeh" ... that phonetically sounds like "tais tu sante" which would translate as 'silent you health'. (No one ever said Anderson was fluent in French or had good grammar)
