Wow that is so exciting! Leave it to the BBC to get these 5 genius's in one room together---hope against hope something more than the doc develops from it. Without hope you can not start the day.Wink

Great news! Just hope something happen, five, four or three, don't matter to me, even two of them would be ok.

Without hope you can not start the day..."yes", perfect phrase.

He looks like a fan just gatecrashing a band and looking a bit sheepish about the whole thing. You've got to love him. He's one of us (ignoring the massive musical talent behind the social awkwardness) Smile

This is excellent news, but I doubt anything musical will come from it as Peter Gabriel has stressed many times before that he has no interest in going down that road.

Even if Gabriel wouldn't re-unite with the rest of Genesis, if at least Hackett did that would be more than enough for me. I like Collins voice better anyway, and he may not be able to drum anymore (I don't know how things are going on that issue), so there would be little for him to do if Gabriel assumed lead vocals. Though there is the possibility that the new formation would include the two of them sharing lead vocals, and have Chester Thompson on drums. Though very likely nothing more will happen anyway.

I agree that the Second Out Line up would make me very happy and be more than enough for me--but Banks has said no Genesis reunion without Peter--he just knows how to keep a grudge against HackettUnhappy

Like I said, I doubt nothing will come from this reunion. Wishful thinking is all it is.

Finally they get together just wished they played together though

They just announced this on ITV whilst playing "Invisible Touch" in the background Confused and also described them as "the original members of Genesis".

If the band can 'reunite' for a doco, surely they can 'reunite' for a musical project of some sort ????

It depends on the level of reuniting. They can easily make a documentary featuring all 5 without them all being in the same room at the same time. Even the photos can be Photoshopped. I guess we'll find out!

The photo depicted earlier in the thread does NOT look 'photoshopped' ......
Even if we get something along the lines of We Can't Dance crossed with some of Gabriel's more recent stylings, I'm sure it would be a satisfying offering for all a d sundry.......
