On s’y croirait presque.

" - http://www.in-limbo.fr/en/index.php

About 7inch EP Once again you have outdone themselves and have made this album even more powerful. We can distinguish some slightly different connotations of the previous album but it recognizes the key In Limbo. What makes you you, your influences .. These spacey times or a sudden a tidal marsh overwhelms you. The calm before the storm.

Reprint .. I love the beginning with these lines only low. The sound rises slowly, other instruments come to mingle and a sudden explosion. Few piano notes reminds me of a song, but lost that .. or Alzheimer Remembrance ..

Between the two pieces a vortex sucks us ..

Migration .. I do not know if it's because summer is coming but puree that is super nice these new hot music notes in color. The sound of percussion makes the final even greater. We believe it almost.

This idea of vinyl cover is great. We immediately think of the good old days when we slid our 45s or the old 33 rpm of our parents on our deck ... the big time when you could hear a completely different sound. With a few memories and imagination one could almost feel the smell of new discs ..

Thank you to you to share with us what you do for the pleasure of our ears .. And thank you for this journey to the land of the sun .." (Google translated)

By Fred Bezies (FR) 19/06/2014 – Frédéric Bezies' Blog

By Nico Chouchoup (Guitarist, composer, FR) 19.06.2014 - Discover His Own project: Tit Patapon
About 7 "EP: "[...] And it's gone to a new In Limbo ... The tone rises gently I think again the Grenoble group." Nothing, "[...]
One or two sounds a little surprising upset on the first part where I would have preferred to hear big distos as keyboards, but let's quickly following: a very nice way based arpeggios, this is stupid, but the 5/4 that you exchange a piece! And it's low drive which clearly a good part of the song, a lot of rhythm in your fingers. We arrive at a passage with "rhodes" well psyche that make great too. And then a kind of stacking guitars and keyboards profile y'en in all directions. And it works. But tell me In Limbo, there's never been so many simultaneous tracks in your songs since you only 3 right? A very nice sound on this descent who do not finish (you have added strings to guitars or what?) The sound is also excellent, it makes you want to re-listen to the previous album and that further before to see if it was already as good or if it has progressed further. The piece is quiet, I see once again the group "Nothing". Oh look, there's a weird cleavage against a place ... Ah bah not, is that we have already finished the first title and the second one happened, I did not see the time passing the last 9 minutes. I feel that back a little time with this second title is more floyd I hear a shot. I love the use made of keyboards, both discrete and present. I need to listen several times to convince me end by against this kind of "battle" percussion / drums I'm a little wary at first listen, is that this is a problem of mix ( perfectly blended and we do not know too distinguish who does what) and then issue a stamp between djumbe and toms battery that are a little too close (like it deserves p'tite derbouka slamming over, good it would change a little too color piece probably) short, the third listening I'm done, then I suddenly puts everything the title to listen to the perceived over the rest of the song, I had not heard at first. Short, yet successful both titles, and then it's nice to see the new sound while the previous album was released only last year, the In-Limbo we have learned to be more patient than that! :)

A little look at the design: very well done, as usual, and always in the same atmosphere."

By Fred Bezies (FR) 06.19.2014 - Frédéric Bezies' Blog
About 7 "EP: [...] In the first track, there is the typical atmosphere of the group, with floydienne influences crimsonienne with a sweet melody, planing, which does not exclude small passages a little more restless. The last third of the runway is in power, with a background sound that is reminiscent of space rock pioneers like the little-known group Touch. transition with the second track is as a letter in the mail. almost too short, but when doing almost 5 minutes, this track takes us again and again in this hot vintage sound and 1970s. Its that has rocked the generation of my parents ... Ah, that's good! Especially too short.

Another great little album, with compositions that show that it is in the old pots that makes the best soup! I wonder what the next two notes of music theory explored by the group ... ;)"

Imo, IN LIMBO is Symphonic Prog. I thought to suggest IN LIMBO for Crosssover Prog only, because I have been told that the Symphonic Prog Team are not willing to accept  'free download' and  'name your price' releases, but I change my mind - every has its exception, isn't?

I have written many of profiles and reviews (in my language of course) and it is quite difficult to be only sitting at the PC and write on and on. The real life is out there and not in the virtual world. I don't agree that one album bandcamp bands belongs on ProgArchives, if it is not something really extra.

It actually doesn't matter what you think about Bandcamp. The PA rules are very clear here:

Quote (...) 1) Use the defined Suggest New Bands/Artists subforum.
This subforum is monitored by collaborators who will listen to your suggestions and alert the proper genre team of your suggested band. The genre team will then take your suggestion and evaluate them to determine whether your band is eligible for addition.

PLEASE make the suggestion checker's job easy by creating well-thought out, thorough suggestion threads. Here is a good procedure to follow:
Title: BAND NAME - POSSIBLE SUBGENRE (ex. Genesis - Symphonic prog)
Start with some basic biographical information about the band (ex. Genesis was formed in 1967...)
Provide streamable samples of the band's music that checkers and team members can listen to (ex. youtube videos, BandCamp pages, Soundcloud links, MySpace, Facebook, ReverbNation, etc)
If you have listenable material that would aid in evaluation, you can upload these in .zip or .rar format to file sending websites such as sendspace.com and send them to the team leader of the genre that you are suggesting the band should be evaluated under. A list of team leaders can be found at the end of the post here.
Provide links to the bands official website, websites that have written about the band, or helpful links in general. (...)

Also, I mind you that Bandcamp stream is too many times the only way for the Teams to hear the whole album and then to decide is that stuff really prog or not - be that "something really extra" or not.

OK thanks for the informations, I know that Smile

But the result is that symphonic team don't accept your suggest. Sometimes the less is more and PA collabs make exceptions for a bandcamp bands many times. I understand them, because making profiles takes a lot of time.

Well, they don't say anything yet about the band. Maybe they will ignore this band because their stuff is available for free download. That's why I suggested IN LIMBO for Crossover Prog too, because IN LIMBO belongs to PA. This is prog without a question. Last but not least, this is nicely recorded album & EP.

Well, based on the full album on bandcamp symphonic it ain't...The strongest elements appear to come from Post Rock, containing evident symphonic and even some jazzy and psychedelic hints.Xover is a good candidate or I could see this band accepted even in Eclectic.Good find anyway.

I heard it Svetonio.

OUTSTANDING music

But I see them in Eclectic due to the Jazz, Post Rock and Symphonic elements blended with care.

Excellent discovery.

My best choices are:

1.- Eclectic
2.- Fusion
3.- Xover

Iván

PS: You know we accepted bands that only released albums in MP3 format.

Well,
My english is poor and i don't understand the whole conversation here.

But, many many Thanks to Svetonio. We're honored by your post which contains elements from our website !
If i understand, you want to propose In Limbo for PA's database, and it isn't possible ?!  No problem at all.
Crossover prog... symphonic prog... I don't know. We try to execute OUR own prog sounds witch melt all our influences ans sounds a little 'fresh'... Nothing else.

By the way i'll try to explain the reason why we've choosen 'FreeDownload'.

We're not professionnals musicians. We like to hearing & doing music (Prog Rock in particular but not only).
No label, no production, recording at home with personal poor (and old) equipments.
So, no ambition at all, other than share our sounds as possible all over the world.
Why people have to spend money ?

Our stuff isn't really extra, we know that.
But some people, seems to like it around the world and say it (social networks). And we're pleased about that.

No need to be in these database with real Prog'Rock masters. But if you like it, talk about it ! Share the links. Leave us a comment... here is our objective !
Even though, Stats downloads are better since you talk about us here Tongue

See you,

Yome, In Limbo's bassist and technician.

Actually, the Archives is not archived just what is the extra (or "extra") stuff,  the Archives is to archive all prog bands and solo artists; of course, under the rules of the Archives.

I'm not musician, I'm just a fan, and for my ears your music is excellent.
After all, it's important for your addition in Archives that here are already two Collaborators who are positively assessed your music.

Regards!

I understand this team. Not easy to classify a sefproduced band in the middle of professional products.
Combine Professionnal  & hobbyist productions could be disturbing for the users.
Maybe the Archives could have a place just to selproduced bands.
I'm sure, a  lot of bands using Free Licences are more talented than us !

But, of course, if one day, a team accept our stuf, so we'll be pleased ! Wink

Thank you for all that you do and very happy to be heared in Serbia !

Best regards,

This doesn't seem to have been picked up by any of the subs, and some seem to think that it fits with us so I have added it to the Crossover charts.

The new album is great! It is the one of the best new realeses for sure.
And I like the band's position - "no label, no production". It's cool.
