Don't care who is involved in the 2014 Floyd collective so long as I get to hear 'THAT' voice and guitar again.

I'm in......Gilmour is a genius and a master guitar picker and something created by Wright, sounds very interesting to me.
Very good news....for the prog community.

I so hope this becomes a reality !!! I love those 'Barn Jams', and Gilmour's 'On An Island' is pure ear-candy. I'm sure there'd be something in the bag to get another Floyd album on the racks.....

And I can't imagine that Roger Waters isn't involved in some way. I'm sure he'll be on this album, as a tribute to Wright.

Gilmour's most recent album was his best. I still always listen to tracks like On an Island and The Blue. (I'd love an entire album of tracks like those two.) So I'm quite hopeful.

Roger isn't involved, this album is evolved from The Division Bell and the Barn Jams.

Rick was a friend of Roger too, hard to fathom that Rog wouldn't be involved out of respect for his buddy with whom he had no legal issues with.....

Wasn't there also word that Rick Wright was working on a follow-up to Broken China? I wonder if any of the material for that might also be used?

How can anyone know for sure at this point? From what I've read, details are still a bit sketchy...

Yeah. It seems unlikely, but then again Waters & Gilmour seem to have been getting on better in recent years, the appearance at one of The Wall concerts, etc.

Now that's exciting! I do hope they can get Waters involved somehow, even if it's just a guest appearance.

I do am getting ever more exited about this. After rapidly loosing hope for the new Yes album, this news are really great. For what I understood from the news I've read, this album will use the leftovers from "Division Bell" (which I must admit doesn't sound so very promising... but it's Pink Floyd, they have never released a weak album under their name... at least not since Dark Side, or even before that). However, if some of the rumors mentioned on this thread are true (which I would be a bit wary to believe), and the barn jams and the work Wright was doing before passing away are really being used too, that would be just awsome and might give more material to work on. And, if by any chance, Waters was to be involved on this project too, that would just seal the deal... however, I don't really think that would happen. Now, which should be the better release this year? Pink Floyd, David Gilmour solo, or Roger Waters solo? It's too much for one year.

I don't want to get your hopes up. I was only speculating about whether unused Wright compositions would be on the album. I never read anything to the effect; I only vaguely remember reading something about Wright working on a follow-up to Broken China. Does anyone else remember reading something along those lines?

BTW, if that new Waters song that was recently released is anything to go by, his new album could be quite lame... (I admire his politics, I agree with him 100% concerning his views of the Israeli occupation and his calls for a South Africa Apartheid-like boycott of Israel; I just didn't like that new track at all.)

Indeed, but it's nice to read that they are making another go at it, especially using Rick's material and all that.

At ay rate, ill listen to it.

Not really excited at all . Let me guess that this will be a plodding mostly instrumental album with some standard bluesy guitar bits?
