for fear of us just creating a list of nautical themed songs rather than a list of favourites, many of my favourites have already been mentioned, however I would add these four: Red Sails - David Bowie Ships in the Night - Be Bop Deluxe Spanish Tide - Family ...but definitely not Moby Dick - Zed Leppelin

Always felt High Tide - Sea Shanties had this gloomy ghost ship-vibe but maybe its just the title/band name/cover art Spring - Shipwrecked SailorSpirogyra - Captain's Log Bee Gees - Odessa (proggier than you'd think) Know several instrumentals with sea, water, ship etc... in their titles but most of them don't sound all that nautical.

Vangelis - The Ballad Of The HMS Bounty (although the whole album would naturally qualify as would another Vangelis album Oceanic)

For me:
- Echoes by Pink Floyd (surprised it hasn't been mentioned before... though it might be a bit of a stretch... still, the beginning lines are definitley sea related). - Marooned by Pink Floyd. - On an Island by David Gilmour. - Histoires sans Parole by Harmonium. - In the Wake of Poseidon by King Crimson. - Home by the Sea by Genesis. - The Point of no Return and Aquarium by Haken (actually, I guess the whole album). - Turn Loose the Mermaids by Nightwish. |
