Interesting. I think I'll make my pick for each year based on the strenght of a band's output during the four years preceeding.

1966 - The Beatles
1970 - King Crimson
1974 - Pink Floyd
1978 - Queen
1982 - Rush
1986 - Marillion
1990 - Queensr˙che
1994 - Kingston Wall
1998 - Porcupine Tree
2002 - Mostly Autumn
2006 - Riverside
2010 - Pure Reason Revolution
2014 - Blood Ceremony
Bigger on the inside.

BTW Agalloch is a prog band that released their albums in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014.   That's neat.  The ultimate world cup band.

Hi,

Picking the winner would be more fun!

For 2014, Germany would win, because we do not know, have not heard, and do not think that Argentina knows or has any progressive music!

How's that for logic!

Headbanger

As for choosing a band for any year, it's too petty for me ... too many choices for too many of those years! And I am not a fan of top ten!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Rather than insult the entire site for their lack of musical knowledge, perhaps you could merely suggest an Argentinian band that meets your rigorous standards for musical excellence.

Either that, or shut the hell up. Your musical guru shtick is wearing thin.
