    Posted: July 14 2014 at 01:34

FULL CODE is a progressive rock band formed in 2005in New Zealand and currrently based in Melbourne, Australia. FULL CODE members are Steve Berry, Gene Carroll, Greg Geeves and  Isaac Paurini.

"Begin with a base of groove driven, experimental rock. Add a generous dose of psychedelia and sprinkle some elements of drum ‘n’ bass over the mixture. Stir thoroughly, then adjust the temperature between 90 and 200 BPM°C depending on the mood. Serve at home or in the club…

Before making the journey across the Tasman in 2011, Full Code intrigued audiences of divergent musical tastes at a range of  venues throughout New Zealand.

In June 2014, Full Code released their debut album - Telescapes. The album was produced by Dan Murtagh at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne, and was mastered by Forrester Savell. Telescapes is a concept album, featuring six core tracks and two intermissions. Each core track is accompanied with surreal corresponding artwork.

Melbourne establishments such as The Espy, The Corner Hotel, The Evelyn and Revolver Upstairs have played host to the energetic live shows that have become a trademark of this atypical group.

“…each track is clearly dripping with studied and experienced musical proficiency” – NZ Musician Magazine."

"The Australian (or Australasian) progressive/alternative/experimental rock scene is a veritable feast for the senses, and has been for many years now. It continues to astound with just about every new entry into its now illustrious history, and another grand new chapter has just opened.

This Kiwi, now Melbourne-based, experimental four-piece are mining some rather unique ground on this, their debut album. You can detect traces of influences, but they are rather obscure within the context of their sound, and ultimately the output they produce is something completely their own.

If a simple, convenient classification is required, then ‘experimental rock’ may have to be it. But this is so much more than that. First of all, it remains highly appealing, and regular rock fans will find something to like here. At the same time, it creates an atmosphere that, once again, I’ve really not heard anywhere else. It’s like a boiling pot, where a weird and wonderful concoction of strange ambience, moody vocals, electronica, at-times frenetic drumming and quirky but epic songs are mixed together. But what is ultimately served onto your plate is eminently palatable.

Anyone who says anything along the lines of ‘nobody’s doing anything new with rock music these days’ needs to be given a thorough education, and Telescapes is a great place to start. If ever a single album could change the minds of the narrow minded, this is it.

Thank you for the link Thumbs Up
However, the reviewer wrote that the Full Code is an Australian ("Melbourne based") band.
Would I change the title of this thread?

They began life as a band in New Zealand, and moved their base to Melbourne (Australia) in 2011. I'm not sure myself which country of the two they should therefore be assigned to. The New Prog Releases blogspot also has them listed as an Australian band: http://newprogreleases.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/full-code-telescapes.html, so I guess we can take it that this is the country that they are going to be associated with from now on. Here is an extract from their bio on New Zealand Musicians & Bands website: http://www.muzic.net.nz/artists/1860/full-code:

"...Before making the journey across the Tasman in 2011, Full Code intrigued audiences of divergent musical tastes at a range of venues throughout New Zealand.

With the backing of FuZen Entertainment, the band held an extended residency at one of Auckland’s premier clubs and also injected a welcome touch of rock into outdoor festival Phat ’09, which showcased some of the biggest names in electronic music.

More recently, Melbourne establishments such as The Espy, The Corner Hotel, The Evelyn and Revolver Upstairs have played host to the energetic live shows that have become a trademark of this atypical group.

Having already recorded a self-titled EP in 2009, Full Code are currently working on an album that is set for release in 2014.

“…each track is clearly dripping with studied and experienced musical proficiency” – NZ Musician Magazine.

Perhaps you could edit the first line of your topic, Svet - where it curently says "FULL CODE is a progressive rock band formed in 2005, in Melbourne, Australia." They were most definitely formed in New Zealand, so perhaps you could say 'based' in Melbourne, Australia rather than 'formed' there? Ermm
