Hi

here is Lorenzo from the band carnenera from Milano, Italy

it is difficult to choose a single sub-genre for this band because the songs in the album follow differend directions; anyway all songs have heavy sounds (hence "post metal") and all have some psychedelic "twist" in them (hence "space rock")

Carnenera is a brand new italian band, their self-titled debut album came out in march 2014 for Sinusite records and is starting to receive good reviews in italian magazines and web-zines.

Members of the band (see below) come from experimental/prog/jazzcore bands in Italy such as NichelOdeon (Il gioco del silenzio, bath salts), InSonar (L'enfant et le ménure), (both with good reviews on progarchives and around the world) and Tongs.

One song of the album also takes advantage of the collaboration with singer Dalila Kayròs, who has a very appreciated solo experimental industrial electronic project and is taking part in a brand new Avant-Grind / Extreme Metal band called Syk born from the ashes of Psychofagist.

Thanks! Carnenera are already under evaluation - we tought they were not very "metal" so a call will be taken to whether they belong anywhere between Kraut and Math. Personally, I think they belong on PA.

thanks aapatsos,
to be on PA would be an honor!

I understand what you mean, but even if we are clearly not "prog-metal"
we have influences from isis, neurosis, tool and others which on PA are listed under "post-metal"

and in many songs we also have a strong psychedelic influence so "space rock" comes to my mind

I frankly think that "math" could be misleading for the listeners

but that's just my opinion :)

bye

Hi Lore - I would not worry too much about the category

I can see the metal influences but your music has a more post - (tuned down) math sound. I would not be surprised if you are eventually added under post-metal but I would appreciate your patience before a final decision is made.

after your suggestion I tried the player in the post-rock/math sub-genre section and I discovered a band called 1099: I just LOVE them!!
