Hi, I want to suggest this new incredible band. They have only an EP Carry The Sound, but it is very good heavy prog.

Bandcamp:

http://akordofficial.bandcamp.com/

This debut mini-album combines driving bass grooves, multifaceted guitar work, huge riffs, catchy melodies, pounding drum sections and Incubus-esk vocal work that will have you singing along to this journey of a record.

"Ok... Imagine Tool and Karnivool locked together in the sweet embrace of a musical orgy; a passion filled session with some light sweet jazz to set the mood. Incubus loiter in the room to tag in every so often and Biffy Clyro are there to serve the refreshments.

That's Akord." - littlebird

"I think they've got a very bright future, I really do, I think they're absolutely brilliant. So look out for Akord" - Loz Guest, Kerrang! Radio

"If members of Mastodon got together and had sex with Brandon Boyd then had a child, that would be Akord" - Alex Baker's, Kerrang! Radio

AKORD are:
Sandy Bain - Bass and lead vocals
Arran Christie - Guitars and backing vocals
Matt Eaton - Drums
Martin Walker - Guitars and backing vocals

Anyway the new full album is on the way ...

Taken from the official facebook page:

We've been quiet recently. At the moment we are trying to secure a writing space that we can lock ourselves away from everything to concentrate on writing towards the album as individually we are all pretty busy with our individual schedules.

The album is looking to be 10-12 tracks long and demos are still being tracked, tweaked, torn apart and put back together. We are dying to show you the new riffs, the drum grooves, the different moods, the instrumental and just how much Sandy's voice has come along since 'Carry The Sound'... But we are battling between release dates and not rushing the album's progress.

There's so much work to be done. Music video scripts, album art, naming all the tracks, funding the recording, releasing teasers for you all and that's just the tip of the metaphorical iceberg. We want to sincerely thank everyone for their patience and continued support and it will pay off in the end. Now you know a little bit of what's going on at Akord HQ.
