The Great Escape.
If you were going to compare something from In Absentia against the main epic from Brave, wouldn't Gravity Eyelids or Split the Soul have been a better choice?

Blackest eyes appeal's me more. Not because the prog thing, just a matter of tastes. In any case this Marillion song is enough good for me too.

I go with PT, but it's kind of a butt rock song, not one of their best.

I picked Darkest Eyes on purpose, to see if this is a popularity contest. Just kidding. I think Blackest Eyes was unexpected and helped to set the tone for In Absentia.

Have to go with Marillion this time - love Brave I've always thought the PT song was very commercial, not bad, but not my fave either.

Porcupine Tree Blackest Eyes.

I would of course say 'Blackest Eyes'
but why even compare these?
one is neo-prog and the other is prog metal, they sound nothing alike

It's got to be Great Escape.
I don't hear anything off that PT album to compete with it to be honest. It's really strange, In Absentia is absolutely revered by most folks around here yet I've always been pretty much underwhelmed by it, and struggle to see how it's viewed as a classic. I'm a huge fan of PT but find In Absentia to be a pretty straightforward rock album to be honest. It's a decent rock album but not a patch on most other PT albums.
