I don't think this particular poll has been done but I am not sure about it LOL Anyway, I decided to have a throw down with these two bands but ONLY their classic Eras? Who do you think was better at their peak?

It has been changed since some of you(not to be named) are so picky. LOL

I dunno about "better" - I'm no musician, but I know I prefer Yes in that era.

Wow.  In all my years here at PA, I don't think anyone has ever thought to pit Genesis against Yes.  Brilliance.  Sheer brilliance.  Tongue

By the way, if Yes beats Genesis, there's going to be one mad Doctor about.  Angry
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Gotta be Genesis. Also, the first 2 albums by each of them aren't really the classic era?Ermm

Change the thread title. I was about to say "lock thread".

Wind & Wuthering, even if some of it is slop.

edit: Did I misread the poll options or is that an edit? My bad if I did. I go with Genesis anyway. The thread is fine since it's only about their classic period, but perhaps the title could reflect that rather than just "Genesis vs. Yes" which we've seen 5 hundred trillion times.

Genesis, even if judging overall output I would still be inclined to pick them.

Genesis for me, I know that I could be a bit subjective, but as an overall concept Genesis is over Yes for me, and in the classic era even more.

The usual Genesis vs Yes poll. My usual vote for Yes

Nought but a variant on a common theme, yet not a bad variant. As usual, I vote Yes. I am not surprised to see Genesis dominating so far, not with this set of proggers.
