Everything from Kill 'Em All through Justice is excellent thrash metal. The Black album did radio metal right, but was also the start of the decline IMHO. I've always enjoyed Megadeth way more than Metallica, but that's just a personal preference  .

I can't resist meat pies, I do love their meaty attitude when served with chips or mashed potato. Meat pies are acclaimed awesomeness wrapped in pastry. Bring on the gravy.

... And Justice For All remains my favorite from them. A scary band. Crushing power. Great riffs. They've left quite a mark in music history, some of my metal-ish music as well.

I think I have to agree that it's my fave Metallica album overall, as well. ...AJFA begins reaching progressive thrash territory on some tracks.
I'll argue that Megadeth did it better on Rust in Peace, though  .
