The band are delighted to give us a sneak peak at a track from their upcoming 3rd studio album. The only catch is, they don't have enough money to record it! Please consider helping them bring this project to fruition by contributing to their Kickstarter campaign, which launches Monday, August 25th!

Leslie proves yet again that you can dance to prog!!  LOL

Also check out their Kickstarter Launch Shows at the Double Door in Chicago on 8/28, and Q-Bar in Darien, IL on 9/5!
More shows to be added. Smile

Hmm...I figured those dweebs were nuclear physicists and chemical engineers by day, except for the singer who I assumed bodyguards and does some "clean-up" work for the government. Wouldn't expect them to need money.

Anyways, hope it works out for them since I dig their previous albums.

District 97's music is just exactly my thing. Just goes to show the sorry state of affairs that this band has to resort to a Kickstarter campaign.
Just to let you know in advance: I'm going to bump this thread every 3 days.

OK, time to drag this one back up again, as advertised.

Please don't get me wrong, I'ts not my intention of asking anyone here to partake in that or any Kickstarter campaign, I don't do stuff like that myself. I'd just like to point anyone in the direction of D-7's first two albums which, to me, are among the best releases of the last few years.

I was surprised they needed Kickstarter to raise money to record the new album, but I want another D97 album so I will definitely be donating when the campaign starts on the 25th.

If anyone ever gets the chance to see them live I highly recommend it.They are a great live act and really friendly and take the time to talk to their fans.

Me,Leslie Hunt,my daughter and son

First day draws to a close, with just 35 more to go...And of the 12,000 bucks they need in total, they already have 7,925...That's almost 2/3 of the target in a single day!!! "Wow!" is all I can say. See more at: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1801575573/district-97s-3rd-studio-albumSmile

I think I might get in on this, maybe the $50 one with your name on the credits on the CD. They're a great band!

My mate `ummmed' and `ahhed' over choosing the same option for the latest Caravan album, the pledge expired, and we missed out altogether. I've since bought the CD, and everyones names looked nice and big in the booklet, very impressed! So I'd rather not miss out on this one.

I did a similar pre-order from the recent solo album from the singer of French band Nemo (I totally have a mental blank on his name right now! ) and it was cool to get my name on that CD booklet!

When does the Kickstart wrap up for this one, David?

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for posting about our Kickstarter!  The support thus far has been stunning.

I didn't see anyone mention that there's a second album in the mix here that's part of our Kickstarter rewards, and that's District 97 with John Wetton-One More Red Night (Live in Chicago). The album was recorded live in October 2013 on our US Tour with John and features 9 King Crimson classics, many of which not performed by John for 40 years. It will be released worldwide October 6th, 2014 on Cherry Red Records, and you can pre-order through our Kickstarter campaign. John has kindly donated a small amount of signed copies to the campaign, so if you'd like one of those, be sure to get your pledge in quickly, as there are only 14 left right now! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1801575573/district-97s-3rd-studio-album

Here's the Kickstarter video with a sneak peek of the new music:

A recording of the complete set from the 'Double Door' first show of the Kickstarter Launch Tour can be viewed at Gigity TV: http://gigity.tv/event/99499/. The D97 set starts at around 1:34:00. Not HQ by any stretch of the imagination, and the audio is a little 'distant'...But it's still watchable (and listenable)...And you'll hear them do some of the new stuff.  Cool

W're 94% funded after only 5 days!  That's incredible.  A huge thank you to everyone who has participated thus far. We're so glad you'll be a part of making this record with us, and we hope more will come aboard for the journey and help us close to remaining $700 gap (and enable us to do lots of other stuff, if we exceed the goal).

Also, as a FYI, there are only 7 signed copies of "One More Red NIght" signed by John Wetton remaining for the $100+ levels. If you'd like one, you should probably pledge soon: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1801575573/district-97s-3rd-studio-album

Thanks so much, Frank!  That's so awesome of you.

Some of you might be thinking that you missed your chance to be a part of making our new album, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Additional funds would allow us to do a myriad of things (hire outside musicians, go on tour etc.) we won't be able to do with just the 12K.  I go into detail on all of that here on the Kickstarter Blog: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1801575573/district-97s-3rd-studio-album/posts/970827

Oh, and John Wetton has kindly agreed to sign more copies of One More Red NIght, so we've got 50 more of those in the campaign than we had initially.  You can check that and everything else out at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1801575573/district-97s-3rd-studio-album

Thanks to all those who have been a part of this, and we hope more will come aboard!

I don't know of any plans by Cherry Red to put out a vinyl version, but you could contact them and see what they have to say.  If they think there's sufficient interest, perhaps they'll press some.
