Very true, and Red is a stellar record.

Went back and forth between Red and Lamb. If I remove my favorite song from each (Starless and Fly On a Windshield) and compare the remainder, Lamb wins.

We all know that Red is one of the few albums at the apogee of progressive rock, unless you think "progressive" only means symphonic.with keyboards.   However, I like to spread the love whenever possible.  Therefore, I'm picking Starless and Bible Black.  Incidentally, the fact that Fripp and company could come up with these two masterpieces in the SAME YEAR is simply astonishing to me.

I am the funkiest man on the planet!

Red, nothing else from the big six this year comes close, IMO.

It's so very strange to me. Red is stripped down KC to such an extent that it seems like punk rock to me. If the Lamb were to be edged out by Starless and Bible Black that would at least make more sense to me. Oh well.

The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway for me. Such a musically diverse album and contains, in my opinion, some of Genesis' most haunting and beautiful but with an extra dose of strange music.

I don't understand the attraction to Red. Most everything seems so slow and boring on it to me. Providence is a fantastic piece, though.

You think Red is boring? Oh dear...

1-The Lamb (I vote to this)
1- RED (I dont know why I choose another!!!)
3-Warchild
4- Starless

I dont have No.2 in this poll. Hardest poll in "The Big Six" series for me. And I like Todd's Utopia so much.

I can't help but notice the lack of Gentle Giant appreciation in these polls. For shame!

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

It is possible to find that King Crimson can leave one totally bemused i.e. me!
