^ My friend recently turned me onto those guys - real interesting stuff. Some of their albums i may never get into but right now i'm dipping my toes into Strawberry Jam and Merriweather Post Pavillion based on recommendations.

What's that one like?

Hey Austin

Knowing your tastes I'd strongly recommend you check out the solo career of AC member Panda Bear. The albums Person Pitch and Tomboy are both excellent and far more easy to get into than the earlier efforts of AC. I really dig the modern Beach Boys touch there is to him.

I would characterize this one (Here Comes the Indian) as one of their more noisy and nervy albums.  I'd say Merriweather is a great one to start with, though it's not my personal favorite.  For something a little more intimate and cozy, try "Sung Tongs", probably my favorite.  I don't really care for Strawberry Jam, at least it hasn't grown on me yet.  They're all pretty different from each other, so if one doesn't work, try another.
