Psychedelic hard rock that is rooted more in an electrified version of traditional Japanese music than blues, resulting in a very strange listening experience. (at least to Occidental ears)

^Hi Simon

I remember you posting quite a few throwback 80s electronic releases - asking for recs. Do you know Com Truise then? One of my faves atm. Sounds like Top Gun and Snake Plissken made a baby and then ran it through a modern filter. Comes highly recommended if you're into that sort of thing.

Yeah, one of my friends from university is a fan of that project.

NP:

From Japanese hippies to vampiric French freakish degenerate Satanic scum. While an influence on the "depressive suicidal black metal" subgenre, this has a very different atmosphere of aristocratic grandeur corrupted into something horrifying and malevolent - reminiscent of the band's countrymen Marquis de Sade and Comte de Lautreamont.

Inspired by the current metal listing in here, I thought I'd go for some Anti Ritual. Frontman Marco is one of my old friends from high school and Ungdomshuset (back then he was in a band called Ukrudt though)

Fittingly enough, this French black metal group I'm listening to now is also of the rather punky variety in the tradition of Venom and the first couple Bathory LPs.

Like Mütiilation they belonged to the Les Légions Noires sect. Nonetheless, if that band feels like the music equivalent of a disturbing but classy and highbrow German Expressionist horror film from the 1920s then Vlad Tepes would make a more fitting soundtrack to a trashy low-budget exploitation splatter film about murderous Satanic cults watched on a decayed bootleg VHS tape.

CAPTAIN SENSIBLE "A Taste of Captain Sensible" (1996)

Always a fan of his work with The Damned, but just starting to get into his solo career and loving it.

Japanese black metal. And the album contains only one almost an hour long "song"...
