This is the second round in a series of multiple voting polls. You may pick up to seven favourites.
The first three of the previous rounds are selected for this round, However, if there is a tie at the third place or a fourth or a fifth has remarkably more votes than the lower ranks, I have added them to this round. For Ummagumma I chose a different path because it has an album with (substantially different) live versions of earlier songs and a studio album with new material. Here I added the winner of the studio album to the two winners of the live album. Edited by someone_else - August 31 2014 at 08:15 |

okay, i didn't get what you said but here's my choice:
Astronomy Domine (Studio) Interstellar Overdrive Bike StCftHotS Careful With That Axe, Eugene Arnold LAYNE See Emily Play at first i voted for Cymbaline (which i can't unfortunately fix) but i decided on choosing on Eugene instead, though the Pompeii and Earls Court '73 version are superior imo.

I could only honestly count six as favorites. In order of the listing:
Lucifer Sam Interstellar Overdrive Bike Astronomy Domini (Ummagumma) Careful with that Axe, Eguene (Ummagumma) The Narrow Way Ironically, I generally prefer A Saucerful of Secrets over Piper yet did not vote for any one single track from it. I am listening to More right now and totally grooving to Main Theme. |

Let there be more Light, Set the controls for the Heart of the Sun (though I prefer for much the live version... at least the one on Ummagumma, but even better the one on Live in Pompeii), Cymbaline, Astronomy Domine (live), Careful with that axe Eugene, The Narrow Way, and Julia Dream. I also like "Cirrus Minor" and "The Nile Song" a lot. Also, I think there should have been a single round to choose between the live and studio versions of Astronomy Domine, for this way the same song may have it's votes divided... not that it is doing much damage anyway, both ones are going stron (studio version being among the very top ones), and one of them is being the clear winner here, anyway.

Can't really beat Interstellar Overdrive as far as definitive psychedelic guitar playing. For the live versions I love Ummagumma but prefer the Pompeii performances, though I think Ummagumma has the best version of Careful With That Axe. A Saucerful Of Secrets is hugely underrated too, though again I really prefer the Pompeii version. The Celestial Voices part of it on that version is especially great
One other thing that I think could have been included is Any Colour You Like, because that is the song I put on when someone asks me what LSD feels like.

The Narrow Way is honestly the only one I could call a favorite, wish it had more votes.

I would not have included any live version if they were not included in one package with a studio album with previously unreleased material. Otherwise I would have made Live at Pompeiļ part of these polls. The Pompeiļ version of Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun is a true gem. Moreover, these live versions are quite different from the studio versions. The studio version of Astronomy Domine never clicked with me, but the live version did. And I prefer the dreamy studio version of Careful with That Axe, Eugene above any live version.
So do I. It is my very favourite from this list.
This poll is about the pre-AHM period. Any Colour You Like is from Dark Side of the Moon, which appears in the next round. And I can tell you in advance that this track will not be included because there are other criteria designed for these polls than psychedelic experiences. I am not experienced myself and I am happy this way. Now which colour do you like? California Dreaming? California Orange? Yellow Sunshine? Green Tambourine? Blue Cheer? Purple Haze? Oh, by the way, which one's Pink?

1. Cirrus Minor 2. Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun 3. The Narrow Way (pretending that part 2 doesn't exist, and part 1 segues smoothly into part 3...)
