This is one of my favoritebands, they did and have done music that never gets old, to be honest this is the best band ever! I love Liams and Noels voices with nice guitarsounds. Just perfection on real.

I would rather listen to ABBA or for that matter any other act in the world, past or present. As you can see, I don't care for them and cannot fathom why they are on anybody's radar.

Not quite that bad for me but they do have the worst lyrics ever

"She did it with a doctor on a helicopter" etc etc.

I quite like the second album but rarely listen to anything by them these days.

I like to call them Bloasis, a name I hope will catch on someday.

I did like them for a month or two back when they first got big in the States. And I still do get a bit misty eyed when I hear Champagne Supernova (my band even covered it briefly).  But apart from that they kind of grate on me.  I do understand they have a lot of albums of which I have not heard a single note, but I'm in no hurry to give them a fair shake.

Blur's debut album Leisure is better than anything Oasis have done IMHO. It's funny that the British tabloids pitted these two bands against each other, but, honestly, Blur were just better all around. I like a few Oasis songs, but they weren't the 'next Beatles' or whatever the British press built them up to be.

So let me get this:
Your handle is Rihanna.
You dig stuff like Metallica, Linkin Park and Oasis.
You almost never post in threads having to do with prog.
The one time I caught you posting about a prog band, it was in your infamous 'I hate Yes' thread.

My question to you then is: Why are you here? It'd be like yours truly joining a Country site, because I kinda dig 'Jolene' and then start talking about black metal and dub-step.

He did start the Opeth thread.

Edit: and the Prog Metal vs Prog Rock thread.

I've never heard a more fitting album name than Standing on the Shoulders of Giants from Oasis.  These days, a hip haircut and a love of George Harrison is all it takes.  Wonderwall was a great single, but I can't think of another single piece of music from the band that I can sit thru.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

The only part I agree with is that they are one of your favorite bands.

Approve Brilliant. Sounded like it was recorded on an Nintendo with syndrum blast beats and was possibly far more enjoyable than it deserved to be, but enjoyable none-the-less. Clap

I guess I really benefit from the fact that I haven't heard a note from this band. [pedaling away on a unicycle] (Call me close-minded, fine.)

You're better for it. If you didn't like Radiohead's The Bends you won't like Oasis. They did the same kind of white boy balladry except they managed to keep the personality behind the scenes and write the most surprisingly vanilla songs the other side of Coldplay.
