Despite the lack of updates recently here on the forum, Seasons of Change is still going to air each Saturday night with an eclectic mix of music from Australia and overseas, mostly from the musical world of progressive rock. Right now the airwaves of Adelaide are being assailled with a bit of Norway's best from Wobbler (the title track from Hinterland).

More details are here at the Seasons of Change playlist blog.

Presenting a weekly progressive rock show on community radio can sometimes be a labour of love, and sometimes just a labour. This week it's definitely a labour of love as this Saturday night's show features:
- an initial selection from the newly released album by Adelaide electronic band Peak (PA entry), a mere 38 years after they issued their first album Ebondàzzar (PA entry).
- Almost an hour of Split Enz related music featuring the ENZSO and ENZO projects of keyboardist Eddie Rayner
- Some whimsy from Australian jazz percussionist & multi-instrumentalist John Sangster (probably better known for his late 70's musical homages to JRR Tolkein's Lord Of The Rings novels and perhaps his association with the Australian group Tully).

That's 8pm tonight Adelaide time (a multitude of times elsewhere):

8pm
Peak    Trains (2018) (Slizdexics Untie)
Cybotron    Suite 16th/9th floor (1980) (Implosion)
Jethro Tull    Aqualung (1971) (Aqualung)
Jethro Tull    Steel monkey (1987) (Crest Of A Knave)
Jordan Rudess    JR Piano Medley: Soon – Supper’s ready – I talk to the wind – And You And I (2007) (The Road Home)
John Sangster    Learizing + The owl and the pussycat (1980/2008) (Uttered Nonsense)
9pm
Split Enz    Walking down a road (1975) (Mental Notes)
The Makers    Heading home (1990) (The Makers)
Eddie Rayner & ENZO    Albert of India + One step ahead + Stuff and nonsense (live) (2014) (ENZO - Stranger Than Fiction - Live)
ENZSO Stranger than fiction / Time for a change + I hope I never (1996) (ENZSO)
Ben Rogers Instrumental Asylum Seasons of change (2007) (Reverb Rehab)

This is more for the record as the broadcast has just finished, but here is the playlist from tonight's edition of Seasons Of Change. As today is Australia Day, the show features of course only Australian music...both well-known and less well-known...well across the musical spectrum from symphonic metal to electronic soundscapes.

Another all-Australian show is scheduled for next week, focussing on older music from the late '60's to the late 1970's and including the prolific "head" music scene from the early 1970's with bands such as Spectrum, Tamam Shud, Tully, etc.

8pm
Three Wise Monkeys (Blue Mountains) Shamozal (2016) (single; longer version on The Red Album)
Southern Empire (Adelaide) Innocence & Fortune (2018) (Civilisation)
Unitopia (Adelaide) Don’t give up love (2008) (The Garden)
Hemina (Sydney) Venus (2016) (Venus)
9pm
Aragon (Melbourne) Rocking Horse (Act 2) (2018) (single only)
Awaken Solace (Brisbane) Temptress of the desert eye (2012) (In Nightfall’s Embrace)
Domino (Sydney) My opiate (2013) (Where the Desert Meets The Sea)
Ian MacFarlane (Melbourne) A mountain of swords + Summits in the mist + Seeds in the dust (1987/2018 re-issue) (Planetarium)
Jaroslav Kovaricek Birds of dreaminess (1993) (Dreamtime II)
Voyager (Perth) Ascension (2016) (Ghost Mile)

Do they consider King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard to be prog?

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

It depends on who "they" are I guess... Smile  I don't see the terms "prog" or "prog rock" thrown around much in the press here; when it is, I've mostly seen the temr "prog rock" applied to "djent" or other heavy/technical bands - Karnivool being most prominent.

To answer your question, off the top of my head, I'd venture no - KG is probably known more as a "psychedelic" band I think?

Regardless of the above, KG have a place on Seasons Of Change though, in the past and in the future - limited by show length of 2 hours, playlist for tonight's show is not comprehensive by any stretch of the imagination..."eclectic" perhaps, but not comprehensive...
