That's a very unusual list, although I only know two of those. By the way, I discovered Algarnas Tradgard on a Prog radio yesterday and I read your great review of their first album. I'll have to listen to the full album

Yeah I know Sam. I purposely chose to make a list without mentioning Floyd, Yes, Genesis etc etc, mostly because it gets boring to see the same choices regurgitated over and over again. Don't get me wrong, I love those acts - especially during this decade, but then again there were so many other fantastic bands as well, which sadly do not get as much praise.
Thanks for mentioning that review. Man I'd completely forgotten about that one, though luckily enough not the actual music, which is insanely good and Krautrock-like. If you ever stumble over any of their two albums, then go for it. The follow up, a posthomus release aptly called Delayed, is every bit as good as the debut, which has become quite the cult classic here in Scandinavia.

Ever the rebel, I chose two from each year! Because, after all, you can't have just one. 1970 - Traffic, John Barleycorn Must Die / Emerson, Lake and Palmer, S/T1971 - Jethro Tull, Aqualung / Yes, The Yes Album 1972 - Yes, Close to the Edge / Jethro Tull, Thick as a Brick 1973 - Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon / King Crimson, Lark's Tongue in Aspic 1974 - Queen, Queen II / Supertramp, Crime of the Century 1975 - Led Zeppelin, Physical Graffiti / Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here 1976 - Genesis, A Trick of the Tail / Rainbow, Rising 1977 - Jethro Tull, Songs from the Wood / Pink Floyd, Animals 1978 - Rush - Hemispheres / Jethro Tull, Heavy Horses 1979 - Pink Floyd, The Wall / Frank Zappa, Joe's Garage Part 1

Too many of my favorites compete with each other in 1971 and 1974. Too many hard choices.
