Interesting that the guitarist is listed as Chris Herin (from Tiles) instead of John Preston Bouda.  I'm curious if this is a temporary thing or not.

There is no doubt in my mind that one of the most important bands to come out of America in the last 25 years is Discipline.

Hamtramck, Michigan (PRWEB) September 05, 2014

Popps Packing hosts "An Intimate Evening with Discipline" on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Doors open at 8PM. Discipline's performance begins at 9PM. Admission is free. (Donations to support Popps Packing are welcome.)

"There is no doubt in my mind that one of the most important bands to come out of America in the last 25 years is Discipline," writes New Zealand-based rock journalist Kev Rowland in his review of Discipline's "This One's for England." Recorded live in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the 2014 double album is Discipline's follow-up to their 2011 studio release, "To Shatter All Accord."

Discipline's 1997 CD "Unfolded Like Staircase" is considered by some to be the best American progressive rock album of the 1990s. Brian Watson of the Dutch Progressive Rock Pages goes further: "Unfolded is my favourite progressive rock album of all time. In over 30 years of listening, and out of a collection touching 1500 albums, Unfolded Like Staircase is ‘the one.’"

In spite of critical success and an international following, Discipline seldom performs live. Even in their hometown of Detroit, a Discipline performance is known to be a rare occurrence. Popps Packing will help to buck the trend when they invite Discipline onto their Hamtramck stage September 20th.

Graem Whyte, a Detroit based artist and co-owner of Popps Packing, also created the cover art for Discipline's album, "To Shatter All Accord." Proceeds from guest donations at the free admission show will go to support Popps Packing.
