Topic: Foxtrot side one Posted: September 18 2014 at 19:49 |
I was listening to Foxtrot earlier this week. We all know Supper's Ready is great but which song on side one do you prefer?

Can Utility. One of their all-time best. The rest are rubbish.

Can Utility. Watcher of the Skies and Time are fine but not great. IMO, Get 'Em Out By Friday is just dreadful; too many over the top theatrics from Gabriel for me.

Time Table for me, it's the most enjoyable. However, if I were talking about the version of Can Utility from Genesis Revisited II, or the one of Watcher of the Skies from Tokyo Tapes, I might choose one of those. And I agree about Get 'em out by Fryday being dreadful.

Can-Utility is one of the most underrated prog songs I've ever witnessed.

Can Utility is the best thing on the album, but Watcher is very close.

I find it always hard to choose between Watcher of the Skies and Can-Utility and the Coastliners. Today I vote for the former.

I enjoy listening to all of them nearly equally, but if I was to cast that one choice only, then it would rather be Can-Utility and the Coastliners (obviously)

Side 1 is the best half of the album. I tend to like Timetable and Watcher the most
|
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.
