Get 'Em Out by Friday.

Love all the songs on side one except Time Table - which doesn't do anything for me I'm afraid.

Coastliners is my fav here. The middle section is simply outstanding. It's one of Genesis strongest moment

Going with the majority here. I love the whole album, but Can Utility is perhaps my favourite track on it. Most certainly a better tune than Supper's Ready.

Can Utility always seemed to be underrated Genesis song although I consider it almost essential prog rock song (prog rock concentrated in less than 6 minutes to be precise). Yes, I love Watcher and rest of the side 1 too but when I listen to it I usually looking forward to Can Utility. One of Genesis best moments. So Can Utility is it.

Absolutely. It should of course be "Side 1 is the better half of the album", with which I agree, actually

Hard to call, since I prefer to listen to albums in their entirety, and listening to just one song has me expecting to hear the track that follows.
But, in the interest of this poll, my vote goes to Time Table. I just really dig it.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

Like them all but not equally. I'll go with Watcher.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Can Utility's probably my favourite song on Foxtrot - glad to see it's got so many votes! Big smile

I voted for time table but I'm not really sure why. LOL. I like them all to some extent. GeBF is kind of annoying to me though. It has grown on me a bit but I think it would better if it were four minutes instead of eight minutes.

The one about King Canute at the shore. Always has been in my top ten from Genesis.

I've been following this poll, and I'm not really surprised Can-Utility takes the honours. Fantastic song, especially the mid-section, followed by Mike's crunching bass.
I recall back in 1987, I was doing media-studies and had to draw up a poster with sketches that relate to a song lyric. I originally chose Can-Utility, the teacher replied with " Can you what?? "...... I said " forget it, I'll just do one on Floyd's Learning To Fly. Anyway, it was much easier to convey......

Get 'Em Out By Friday deserves some love; so I have given it.  One of Peter's better "story songs".
